Submission Guidelines for Spotlight on Tri Tac Games
Spotlight on Tri Tac Games is an occasional newsletter that focuses on Tri Tac Games RPGs. It typically has two or more adventures, some new gear for the games, and background information on people or places within the RPG setting. Articles should be written for ages 13 and above. No adult situations or current political situations are allowed.
Submissions and Compensation

Authors of accepted submissions receive one or more pieces of exclusive Tri Tac Games merchandise (such as the lovely t-shirt pictured here), three printed copies of the issue of Spotlight where their submission was printed, and recognition on the contributor’s page. We will not publish without the author’s permission.
Submissions (and questions about submitting) can be emailed to tritac@tritacgames.com.
What We’re Looking For
Adventures should be geared towards PCs in the Novice to Experienced range and can introduce new factions and settings. Settings do not have to be fully fleshed out — just enough so that a GM can take the setting and expand it in directions they choose. Notable NPCs should be statted for the new Tri Tac d100 Compatible System, or at least have sufficient background to allow a GM to adapt them to the alternate RPG rule system that they are using. The write-up should include a summary of what the characters are good at, what they are bad at, their backgrounds, and any potential plot hooks involving them. Submissions will be evaluated for game balance and adjustments will be suggested to the writer.
Art: Original fan art and illustrations set in the Tri Tac universe. Digital and traditional media welcome. High resolution preferred. No AI art.
Spotlight on Tri Tac d100 Compatible Mechanics: A short article that fills system gaps or suggests tweaks or tips to ease the strain of paring down Tri Tac Classic rules to fit the expectations of today’s d100 players. In particular, we’re looking for suggestions on how the player base would prefer that we codify different variations on magic for the anticipated d100 compatible release of Bureau 13: Stalking the Night Fantastic®.
Spotlight on Technology: A short article that highlights a particular in-game technology for the setting, that can be used by both the players or the GM. Between 1,700 and 2,400 words.
Spotlight on an NPC: A short article on an NPC that could be an ally or a foe to Richard Tucholka’s player characters. Statistics will use the Tri Tac Games d100 rating system. Between 1,700 and 2,400 words preferred.
Spotlight on an NPC Team: A short background piece about a group of NPCs in a Tri Tac RPG setting, that the player characters can interact with or use as a resource. Between 1,700 and 2,400 words.
Spotlight on a Location: A short article about a locale in the RPG setting that can be used as a jumping-off point for future adventures, or where resources can be procured by the player characters. Between 1,700 and 2,400 words preferred.
Scenarios: A scenario set in one of Tri Tac Games’ settings — Bureau 13: Stalking the Night Fantastic®, Fringeworthy®, Rogue 417, and Incursion seem to be the most popular among the fanbase. Between 6,000 and 12,000 words preferred. If at all possible, please frame the scenario so that the players and the GM can improvise different ways to encounter things.
Short Story: A short piece of fiction set in a Tri Tac setting. For this type of submission, we want a short, 300-word summary of the story before we agree to include it in the newsletter. Between 6,000 and 12,000 words. Make sure it is suitable for an audience 13 years old or older.
Comments and Kudos: Well thought out (non-inflammatory) breakdowns, suggestions, or reactions to any aspect of the Tri Tac d100 system-in-progress or the contents of previous Spotlights.
