Incursion I, II, and III / Re: A challenge: Destination 01

I was ignoring that part, since it describes where Earth is at right now.   :o

I agree that it needs more, specific development to become an adventure outline.

I think, there is always going to be a "Whatever the GM wants" when he has specific scenario ideas.... its like watching X-Files... . some episodes are about the overridding plot ("I'm not saying it was Aliens... but... Aliens!", and some are just random stuff like werewolves, unicorns, and whatnot.

So this shouldnt replace a GM coming up with their own scenario... but more like... a plot idea that can be fleshed out as needed.

There is this:
"The Society Has A Just Rotten Attitude, Crime Is Barely Functional And The World Econonmy Is Dead
Problem: Climate Issues Due To Harsh Seasons"

Which I assume to meant to seed adventure ideas.  Just think it needs more.

I'd hunt down the Prime Directive Newsletter with the random adventure generator and use that as inspiration.  You've already got a somewhat detailed location, so you need:

Opponent (make a list of possible alien foes, but also things like natural disasters, mad scientists, ancient relics)

Threat (What is the danger the PCs must prevent or mitigate? Theft?  Loss of life? Revolt? Wrongful execution?)

Object (the specific things they need to protect, which could be a planet, moon, shuttle, cargo, scholar, etc.)

Complication (the unexpected things, like plague, sniper, technical failure, traitor, etc.)

Of course, my players would just go, "Hot planet?  Nope.  We jump to the next star system.  What's there?"   :'(

I used the tables in the incursion book to generate a destination.  The following it what it generated.
So here is the challenge.  Take this, and come up with a NavCube destination.  Or, barring that, come up with some additional tables that would help a GM flesh this out.

Code: [Select]
Atmosphere Mix Is Close To Breathable, And Is Hot.
Surface Is Made Up Of One Mass With Non-Active Geology And 1 Landing Zone(S).
Life Is Frantic With Fair Bio-Compatability.
Near Intelligent Life Forms, Who Are An Uplifted Race Located In Urban Areas.
Their Development Is Early Tech And They Are Comfortable With Aliens.

Okay, thanks.  For future reference, where did you pull these dates from?  My FTL:2448 adventure in part deals with events that came out of the Celestar Tyranny and the Kymnar resistance (and how far some were willing to go to drive out the humans).  In another sense, it's about dealing with family drama and being left with things to resolve.

I was going to leave the timeline vague, but being able to reference specific events and times makes a bigger impact during play.

Hey, William, do you have a handle on the FTL:2448 timeline as regards the Kymnar?

How much time has passed since the Celestar Corporation control of Kymnar was broken?  The Berian enslavement by the Kymnar was a century long, ending when the Celestar Corporation took control, but the Kymnar are supposed to have had only a half century of spaceflight before being taken over by Celestar and beginning their own century of harsh rulership.

So how did all those Berians get to Kymnar for a century of servitude?  Especially since the Berians seem to be a mostly primitive society, so it seems doubtful they were the ones to stumble upon the Kymnar during their own space exploration.

Lets see... the Kymnar destroyed the Archaeopteryx sometime between 2120 and 2128.
Celestar discovered the Kymnar in 2145, by 2149 they had scouted the homeworld and a few of their colony worlds.  In 2160 Celestar attacked, and by 2162 they have control over Kymnar space.  In 2180 they attempt a revolt, but it fails.  In 2251, Celestar's Tyranny is exposed, and they are disbanded by ISCO in 2252.  So... That's about 90 years under Celestar.  Oddly Celestar friend the Berians when they took over, so if they were enslaved... would have to be from 2062 or so, til 2162.  It says a half century of primitive starflight, but that usually implies the race has achieved FTL... Prehaps they found the Berians during early sublight invasions?   Or... someone screwed the math when the book was written :)
